It tastes great and once you learn it you’ll love to do it again. Indian version of this popular subcontinental dish utilises a pinch of asafoetida (heeng). People on the Pakistani side don’t use heeng that often. So here we go.

Yeah its the same Chicken Biryani that we were so eager to eat while still in early school! Our grand mother was an expert hand at this. Luckily we have that precious recipe to share with you folks. Chicken Biryani is a very popular Indian/Pakistani dish done mostly on special occasions. In this recipe chicken pieces are marinated in spices and yogurt mixture and cooked with basmati rice on a low flame.

An all time favourite of my nephew, who would go to any length to make his demand for koftas being met the very same day! Traditionally cooking koftas has been considered more of a hassle by desi women, here we prove it to be a delightfully simple and delicious recipe. Go for the leanest choice minced lamb and you will end up with real suave and succulent koftas. Try not to make the meat balls (koftas) too hard while forming them.

This all time favourite is a real treat at family get-togethers. Beware though, that it requires a bit of patience and a couple of hours at hand to embark upon this treat. The hassle is well worth the wait and effort. It tastes and smells really great. Another word of caution for people with high blood pressure and cholesterol issues, this is not for you!
